Kayak Gives Us the Most Useful Travel List for 2017

It’s the beginning of a new year, and we all know what that means.

No, I’m not talking about resolutions of losing weight or anything without real resolutions. What I’m talking about is what people actually care about: When is my next vacation?

And with perfect timing, KAYAK, the fare aggregator and travel metasearch site, gives us the Travel Hacker 2017, which features lists of top destinations based on trending, popular, beach, family, and wallet-friendly flights. The results were based on over one billion KAYAK searches.

Travel Hack 2017My favorite list is the “Top 10 Trending Destinations” because it features international destinations, and most of them are places I have never been to before. Here’s what’s on the list:

  1. Havana, Cuba
  2. Reykjavik, Iceland
  3. Auckland, New Zealand
  4. Bali, Indonesia
  5. Tokyo, Japan
  6. Cartagena, Colombia
  7. Lisbon, Portugal
  8. Medellin, Colombia
  9. Calgary, Canada
  10. Sydney, Australia

When you click on each destination you also get things like quick tips, when to book, median airfares, places to see, etc.

For those who are trying to travel on a budget (aren’t we all?) Kayak gives us a breakdown of when exactly we should book. In the When to Book section, you get a general guideline on when to book based on where you’re going, and you can even see some of their most popular routes based on the airport and destination.

When to Book
KAYAK’s When to Book section includes specific information on best times and places to book from.
Region
You can see when the best times to book during the year are, based on which region you plan to visit.
Personalized
There are even customized insights based on your home airport to some of their most popular routes.

Happy traveling!
